Featured Wines:

2017 Cantina del Taburno Falanghina di Sannio – Campania, Italy; $14.99

With nearly 1000 different grape varieties estimated to be planted in Italy it is always shocking when the only white wine people think of is Pinot Grigio. Many of the whites have great acidity, are crisp and refreshing, and much more flavorful. Some with more florals, salinity, minerality, or tropical and stone fruit flavors. Falanghina is the primary grape of this region with a history dating back to ancient Rome and Cantina del Taburno is one of the leading producers of this varietal. Built in 1972 the catina provides technical assistance to more than 300 other viticulturists in the region. Their Falanghina is beautiful and a perfect refreshment for Summer. Light floral notes, a zesty citrus, and stone fruits like peaches and nectarines. - $1.25 Sample

2018 La Closerie des Lys Limoux Rose – Languedoc-Roussillon, France; $13.99

I really dug this one. Grabbed a glass a few weeks ago at Tela… for $7 a glass. A southern French blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault. The nose is watermelons and oranges with more red berries on the palate. Aged on the lees in stainless steel for 5 months giving the wine a bit of a rounder and rich style. This is a porch pounder. - $1.25 Sample

2018 Orlegi de Luberri – Rioja, Spain; $14.99

That's right a chilled red… These guys have built a name for themselves with light, fruit forward wines utilizing a semi-carbonic style of wine making. Carbonic maceration is most common in Beaujolais and is what gives Nouveau its distinct characteristics. It is a process in which whole grape clusters are fermented that causes most of the juice to ferment while still inside the grape.

The Orlegi is mainly Tempranillo with just a hint of Viura(white grape) to add an additional freshness to the aromatics. This is meant to be drank very young and we enjoy it with a chill on it. This is exploding with fruit. Loads of almost “brambly” berries with an undertone of fresh cut violets. - $1.25 Sample

The Whole Shebang Cuvee #12 – California; $14.99

This is a red blend from famed Bedrock Wine Co. Bedrock didn't open its doors until 2007, but their focus has been on bringing life back to some of the most historic vineyards of the United States. The majority of their wines feature the classic California “black” varietals like Zinfandel, Mataro (Mourvedre), Petite Sirah, Carignan, and Alicante Bouschet. Between the actual Bedrock Vineyard originally planted in 1854, the Evangelho, Monte Rosso and Pagani Ranch vineyards planted in the late 1800's they take extreme pride in the traditions of California.

The Twelfth Cuvee of The Whole Shebang is an estimated insane 27 grape varietal blend. Each cuvee is typically more than half Zinfandel, but this is a classic field blend with lots of small amounts of many other varietals. The wine screams for some smokey BBQ. Bold and spicy without being too jammy. - $1.25 Sample
