Big & Beautiful California Wine Tasting

Well I guess if we had a theme it would be "New California" wines. All of these are brand new to the store and are just tasty. Starting with an amazing crisp refreshing white blend, then a juicy Barbera closeout from Amador County, a jammy North Coast blend, and a HUGE smokey Syrah/Petite Sirah blend to finish on.

Only $5 for the flight!

Featured Wines:

2018 Folk Machine White Light – Santa Rosa, California; $15.99

Folk Machine is part of the Hobo Wine Company portfolio from Kenny Likitprakong. Started in 2002 as a traveling winemaker it wasn't until 2013 that they broke ground, building a facility and crushing their first vintage in their own winery. The Folk Machine series focuses on more esoteric grape varietals. White Light is a blend of Tacai Friulano, Riesling, Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat coming from all over California. Natural fermentation and then aged in all stainless steel. A dry and very fresh wine. Flavors of tart lemon, pear and stone fruits like nectarines and peaches. - $1.00 Sample

2016 Terra d'Oro Barbera – Amador County, California; $8.99 WAS $17.99 SAVE $9!

Terra d'Oro is one of the wineries really putting the Sierra Foothills on the map. The region has so many micro climates that allow for lots of different grape varietals to be planted. The rolling hills of the region makes it a perfect place to grow some classic Italian varietals and this Barbera truly shines. I was extremely excited to get some cases in at that closeout price! 15 months of barrel aging in a combination of French and Hungarian oak. Cherry cola and blueberry flavors hit the palate with soft round tannins that provide a long smooth finish. - $0.50 Sample

2013 Steele “Persona Non Grata” Red Blend – Lake County, California; $13.99

Jed Steele released his first vintage in 1992 with the vision of focusing on high quality small lot production. He now has 81 acres of vines planted across four estate vineyards in Lake County, north of San Francisco. The 2013 Persona Non Grata is a blend of all Lake County fruit. 38% Syrah, 31% Zinfandel, 19% Merlot, 7% Barbera and 5% Petit Verdot. This is a total fruit bomb with dark rich berry flavors. A big, juicy red blend. - $1.00 Sample

2016 Fess Parker “The Big Easy” – Santa Barbara County, California; $29.99

This one is definitely a love for head winemaker Blair Fox. He has a passion for Rhone style reds from the Central Coast… and so do I. This wine is huge. A blend of mainly Syrah and Petite Sirah with just a touch of Grenache to add some bright red fruits to the mix. Expect loads of dense blackcurrants, licorice and spice with a rich smokey finish. - $2.50 Sample
