Christian Moerlein Beer Tasting

Truly one of the reasons craft beer is so big in Cincinnati. Originally founded in 1853 and operated all the way up until prohibition. It wasn’t until 1981 the brewery reopened honoring the namesake of the original founder. With a focus on traditional Bavarian beer styles they stand out in the now crowded craft market as the original “Lager House.”

Featured Brews:

OTR Amber Ale: A good balance of hops and malt. Slightly sweet caramel notes up front with a punch of Cascade and Fuggle hops to balance it out. 5.8%ABV/40IBU

Emancipator Doppelbock: Very traditional style. A robust malt blend of six different varieties with big caramel and toffee notes. 7.5%ABV/27IBU

Big Hazy New England Style IPA: An actually shelf stable New England style. None of the flaked oats for fake haziness either. A blend of juicy Northwest hops with notes of passion fruit and mango. 6.2%ABV/65IBU

Power Stoutage Coffee Stout: A nice creamy milk stout with coffee and cocoa. Roasty notes of chocolate malt with a smooth rich finish. 5.7ABV/23IBU
